At the end of the 19th century, transformers began to use transformer oil as an insulating and cooling medium, and oil-immersed transformers appeared. In addition to the abundant natural storage and low price, transformer oil has the following characteristics, so it has been widely used.
1) When used in combination with fiber materials, it has good insulation performance, which can reduce the insulation distance and reduce costs.

3. Water supply method of transformer cooling water system
When the transformer is running under load, the cooling water is generally taken from the technical water supply pipe of the unit. When it is running without load, the cooling water is generally taken from the public water supply main of the power station, and the water is supplied to the transformer by the no-load cooling water pump under pressure.
4. Drainage method of transformer cooling water system
Under normal circumstances, the cooling water of the transformer when it is no-load and loaded is discharged to the tail water pipe of the unit through the drainage main of the technical water supply system of the unit. A connecting valve is provided between the drainage pipes of each transformer. The connecting valve is in a closed state under normal circumstances. When the tail water pipe of the unit is required to be emptied and the transformer is still in narrow load operation. The connecting valve between this transformer and the adjacent transformer can be opened to discharge the no-load cooling water to the tail water pipe of other units.
